Hello there, Lisa here with you today to share a Halloween card which uses just the right mix of spooky and pretty! The beautiful bow and flowers that you add onto the hat are perfectly unexpected for Halloween.
So let's get started with how I made the card. I began by taking The Witch's Hat Etched Dies and die cutting all the different elements from Raven, Rainforest, Peridot, Mulberry, Orchid and Tuscan ColorWheel Cardstock. I adhered them either with foam squares or Precision Glue. For the flower centers, I thought it would be fun to add a few orange enamel dots from Sunset Hero Hues Enamel Dots. I set the hat to the side to work on the background.
I took a panel of Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock and placed it into a cardboard box. Next, I added a tiny bit of Black Acrylic Speckle Ink onto an acrylic block and added a little water. Using a no.2 round brush, I splattered the ink all over the panel, trying to focus on the areas that I knew wouldn't be covered by the cardstock strips. I left the panel to dry.
The strips were die cut from Mulberry, Tuscan and Rainforest ColorWheel cardstock and they measure 5/8". They were adhered across the panel using Precision Glue. Using the largest Arches Infinity Die, I die cut an arch from Mulberry ColorWheel Cardstock and adhered it on top. The witch's hat was then popped on top using foam squares.
To finish, I foiled a sentiment from Spooky Season Letterpress + Foil & Die Set using Black Foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System. It was cut out with the coordinating die and adhered using some more foam squares. The shine on the foil gives the sentiment a really lovely finish. I adhered the panel onto a top folding white A2 note card and called it done!
