Celebrating Black Crafters - Sidnie Des Jardins

Hi friends! Today we are sharing another installment of our monthly series, Celebrating Black Crafters, where we share artwork from artists who we'd love for you to get to know. Today our fantastic guest artist is Sidnie Des Jardins!

Hello, my name is Sidnie and I’ve been card-making for about 3 years. My journey began when I was looking for Disney Family t-shirt ideas on YouTube. I was puzzled when a handmade card from someone named Jennifer McGuire came up, but I thought she had t-shirt ideas in her tutorial as well. I hit play and I..was…HOOKED! I never knew there was an entire world of paper crafting out there…And I guess the rest is history.

Card #1 - I wanted to do something simple. Less is more in some cases so I just stamped my image from Power to the People and did some Copic coloring. I fussy cut my image out and used some foam tape to add a little dimension.

Card #2 - I wanted to continue with my simplicity theme so I just embossed my Love is Love Bold Prints background stamp with clear embossing powder. I ink blended some coral color to my panel and faded it up a bit and I love pairing that color with gold so I cut out the Hands of Hope Fancy Die on some gold cardstock and finished it with a sentiment from Power to the People. Simple.

Beautiful cards, Sidnie! Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration and talent with us!

Please be sure to visit Sidnie on social media and give her a follow! She's on Instagram @sldcreations and you can also find her on her blog SLDCreations.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello, crafty friend! I’m Adrienne Boese, better known online as Alice Scraps Wonderland. I love a good interactive scrapbook page! It can be something as simple as a pocket or something more intricate like a waterfall mechanism or flips. Today, we are going to focus on one of those simple techniques - a pocket!  It’s the perfect technique to dip your toes into the interactive...
