Colorful Summer Journal Page

Hello stampers! Today we're mixing it up with a mixed media art journal page created by a very talented guest artist. Please join us in welcoming Isha Gupta to the blog!

Hello everyone! Isha here today. I'm so excited to share my project here on the Hero Arts blog as a guest designer. Thank you Hero Arts for this awesome opportunity.

As soon as I saw the hero_product_link sku="CL944" text="Color Layering For You Flowers"] stamps, hero_product_link sku="CL962" text="Color Layering Flamingo"] stamps and hero_product_link sku="DI187" text="Paper Layering Palm Tree Die"], I had this idea to create a mixed media journal page and I am really happy on how it turned out.

Firstly, I applied gesso to the page as I am planning to watercolor the background using inks. Once the first layers of watercolor wash dried, I applied some pastel peach ink dauber to the ground and pastel blue and teal to the sky part. Let it dry. I then applied some distress stain to create the clouds and sponged some darker inks to the edges of the page. Next I stamped the flamingo and went over the ink using wet brush for a watercolor look. Let it dry and die-cut it.

Stamp the layering flowers and apply a wet brush to it to create faux watercolor look. Stamp smaller flowers using light color ink and watercolor over it for no-line watercolor look. Stamp some text to give extra texture to the page. Adhere all the colored images to the page.

Thank you for the inspiration, Isha. We love your fabulous combination of color and techniques!
