Creating a Hexagon Shaped Card

Hello there, Michelle here and today I thought I would create a shaped card that works for the current Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge, which is rainbow cards. We invite you to join the challenge now through September 9th and show us your rainbow creations for a chance to win a $50 Hero Arts gift card!

I really love creating shaped cards and the Infinity Dies are perfect for creating the card base. For my card today, I am using the Hexagon Infinity Dies.

I started by die cutting the second largest of the dies from the Hexagon Infinity Dies set from Mist cardstock I also cut the same size from Dove White cardstock and Classic Vellum Layering Paper. The vellum and white cardstock pieces were further cut down using the the Cloudy Sky Scene Fancy Dies for the cloud layers.

I took the sentiment from the Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL and stamped it on to the white cloud piece with Intense Black Ink. The cloud pieces were adhered to the Mist piece, making sure to only add adhesive behind the white panel. I took the Rainbow Infinity Dies and cut three layers of the rainbow from Amethyst, Azalea and Peony cardstock.

They were adhered to the panel with foam tape. I then took a Dove White Side Folded Card and placed the largest of the Hexagon Infinity Dies on top, with one side of the hexagon hanging over the fold of the card slightly. I ran it though my die cutting machine to create a card base. The panel was adhered on top. To finish off, I cut the Star Confetti Die from white glitter paper in the Glitter Paper Basics set and scattered them over the card, adhering with Precision Glue.

Do you like making shaped cards? Hexagons are definitely one of my favourites! Thank you so much for stopping by today, have a wonderful day!
