Today I'm gonna show you how to get some more use out of your inks - by using them to create custom colored paint!
To create your custom color, smoosh your ink pad against an acrylic block (or some plastic acetate), and then add a couple drops of acrylic. I used some pearlescent white acrylic paint, so that I could also get a nice shine to my painted piece. Mix the two, and then create your masterpiece! I made my sure my brush was wet before I started painting, so that it would be a little smoother to paint, but if you'd like a rougher painted look, then don't water your brush beforehand.
For my cards today, I used hero_product_link sku="AF145" text="Soft Apricot"], hero_product_link sku="AF275" text="Soft Vanilla"], hero_product_link sku="AF223" text="Tide Pool"], hero_product_link sku="AF246" text="Mint Julep"] and hero_product_link sku="AF247" text="Fresh Peach"] to create my colors. First lesson: let the paint thoroughly dry before trying to emboss - acrylic paint dries fast, so a solid hour should be fine. I also added some anti-static powder after letting it dry, just to be safe. Then I stamped the hero_product_link sku="G6122" text="Love You Message"] stamp in Versamark, and embossed with some hero_product_link sku="PW116" text="copper embossing powder"]. However, if you're like me, and impatient, and didn't give the paint long enough time to dry, you can always cover up your boo-boo with some vellum. ;)
I topped both cards off with some sequins, to keep things simple.
