Summer by far is one of my favorite seasons. I like the warm weather, and the cold homemade fruit beverages that I always crave. Today I am featuring a fun set that is all about these type of drinks and it is called hero_product_link sku="CL960" text="Let's Get Fresh"]. What I like the most about this set, is that it includes lots of images and sentiments appropriate for cards and invitations. This set, along with all the products included in the Summer Catalog are already available at retailers and as of May 11th you will be able to get them in the Hero Arts store.
I created a shaker card using the jar image and its matching hero_product_link sku="DI083" text="Jar Frame Cut"]. Shaker cards can look like a complicated thing to do, but once you visualize how you want your final project, it's just a matter of putting all the layers together. Once you have mastered one, all the next ones are going to be easier each time.
I began by creating the components for this card as follows: I made a card base from hero_product_link sku="PS622" text="Foliage Layering Paper"]. I created a foam panel and a hero_product_link sku="PS610" text="Snow Layering Paper"] panel too. I die cut both of those panels with the jar die. I used the foam panel as a guide to see where I should stamp the straw over the card base (you can use a pencil to mark). I stamped the straw and I colored it with markers. Next, I adhered the foam panel over the card base.
After that, I stamped some of the fruit images over different colors of Layering Paper. I trimmed them with scissors and I placed them inside the jar opening along with some sequins. Then, I stamped the jar image over an acetate rectangle and I adhered it over the foam panel.
Next, I stamped the straw on the white panel (I aligned it with the card base straw) and I colored it with markers. I stamped a sentiment that belongs to a set called hero_product_link sku="CL944" text="For You Flowers"] with hero_product_link sku="AF345" text="Intense Black Ink"] as well. Additionally, I added a red stamped card stock stripe as the base of the jar, which was also die cut with the jar frame. Lastly, I adhered the main panel over the card front and I added a strawberry with two leaves to finish off my yummy jar.
