Graduation Party Fans

Welcome back, crafters! Graduation season is fast approaching! It’s time to start looking at your celebration stamps and dies with a new lens. I used the Party Fans set to create this graduation card for my niece using her school colors. She is graduating from college in May and we are so proud of her.

To start this project I stamped out the party fans in two different color ways using the school colors; red and white with blue accents. I used Hero Arts Core Ink in Cherry, Nautical, Antique Ivory. I stamped and die cut four sets of party fans in two different color ways. I also stamped and die cut the coordinating circle centers of the party fans. I did have some extra at the end of my project but I like to get all my stamping and die cutting done at once and was not sure how many I was going to use.

For the card base, I took a side folding A2 notecard and folded the front of the card back on itself to create a Z-fold card. I arranged the party fans on the edge of z-fold so they were hanging off the right edge but still within the A2 panel. These party fans were stacked die cuts because I knew they would be moving as the card opens. I used a pencil to lightly trace the edge of the party fans on the inside panel of the card. This helps me place my stamped sentiment so it would not show when the card was closed. I easily erased the pencil markings once the sentiment stamping was complete.

The sentiments are from It's Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut set. This is one of my most used sentiment sets! Both the front and inside sentiments are stamped with Cherry and Nautical Core Ink. The sentiments on the front have thin mats of Cherry and Nautical cardstock as well.

To complete the card, I added some party fans on the inside and added the circle centers to all the fans. I love to customize my graduation cards with school colors. It is always out of my comfort zone but makes it special for the recipient. Happy Graduation season!
