So let's get this monster party started, shall we?! Jayne is here to share the first look - a super creative way to use the Kids Monster Kit!

I had so much fun playing with this delightful kit! When I saw the tub of adorable monster stamps, I decided to make a children’s bingo-style matching game. Choosing picture tokens from a bowl, the object of the game is to be the first to match five pictures, by image and color, in a single row. Not only is this game fun to play with young children, but with a little guidance, this craft is simple enough for children to make themselves.

Although the number of images on the game board can vary, I made a traditional board with 25 squares. I cut a five inch square of Dove White cardstock and then using a t-square and a black marker, I drew a grid of four vertical lines and four horizontal lines at every inch. Then, after stamping the star image in the center square for a free space, I randomly stamped a monster or a monster phrase with Intens-ified Black ink into each of the other spaces. I used colored pencils to color each image, being careful to color repeated images with different colors.

After coloring all of the images, I secured the game board to a larger piece of Meadow cardstock. I also stamped a row of monsters and phrases across the top edge of the panel with Embossing & Watermark ink. Using a heat gun, I embossed the images with white embossing powder.

To make the picture tokens which are drawn from a bowl to determine which space players cover on their board, I die cut lots of small circles from white cardstock using a Nesting Circle Infinity Die. I stamped each circle with one of the same images or words on the game board and then I colored them with the same colors. For extra durability, I secured each picture token to a colored cardstock circle.

Finally, to make the chips used to cover the pictures on the game boards, I simply used a smaller circle die to cut cardstock discs. Then, for maximum monster appeal, I added a self-adhesive googly eye to the center of each chip. It’s a super easy detail that’s sure to bring a few smiles.

This kit is ideal for ages 6-12 and up (and of course adults who still feel like kids!) Crafting is a great way to teach creative play, color learning, inspire imagination, and more.
