Video: Watercoloring with Reactive Inks Featuring the June 2022 MMH Kit

Hello friends! It’s Channin here and today I’m watercoloring some of the beautiful images from the new June My Monthly Hero Kit . Watch the video below to see how you can use the Reactive Inks included in the kit to watercolor the gorgeous mermaid and create an enchanting underwater scene.

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)

To create this card I first stamped several images from the kit onto a panel of bristol paper (smooth) with Embossing & Watermark Ink . I then poured Detail Black Embossing Powder over the images and heat set them with a heat tool.

Next, I watercolored the images with Reactive Inks from the included Reactive Palette Ink Pad. I first watercolored the hair with Berry Smoothie , Grape Slush and Blue Hawaii to create an ombre look. I then colored her tail with Blue Raspberry and Blue Hawaii . Next, I finished the mermaid by painting her skin in Splash . I then moved onto to the seaweed, watercoloring with Blue Raspberry and Blue Hawaii . Lastly I finished with the shellfish and used Berry Smoothie , Blue Hawaii & Grape Slush inks.

With my images colored I then die cut them out with the included dies. Next, I created a background by ink blending an A2 panel of Lapis cardstock with Blue Hawaii and Grape Slush . I then stamped a sentiment in Intens-ified Black Ink and adhered the panel onto the a A2 top-folding Dove White card base.

Next, I adhered the seaweed with Precision Glue and adhered the mermaid and shellfish with foam adhesive. Lastly, I finished the scene by adding a pearl to the shellfish.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!
