September My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway!

Hello and welcome as we continue the countdown to the release of the September My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Tuesday, September 4th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. This month we are one day later than normal due to the Labor Day holiday. Stay tuned for more inspiration tomorrow! Now let's join Ilina for another look at this autumn inspired kit.

Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying all the peeks of this month's kit. Since moving to Georgia nine years ago fall became my favorite season and this kit captures it perfectly. For my card today I decided to use the Window Fancy Die frame included in the kit.

To make the card I started with a piece of white alcohol marker friendly card stock measuring 4 " x 5 1/4". I die cut the vase and branch from masking paper (or all over sticky notes) and positioned them where I wanted my images to go onto the white panel. Once I masked that area using the die cut sticky notes, I used Antiqua, Tide Pool and Soft Pool ink pads to do some ink blending.

Once the background was done, I removed the branch mask and stamped the branch using Intense Black ink, next I did the same for the vase. Then I colored with Copic markers, added shimmer pen to the flowers and applied Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen. Set it aside to dry.

In the meantime I die cut the frame from Snow Layering Paper and sprayed with White Iridescent Shimmer spray. Set it aside to dry.

Stamp the sentiment onto chocolate colored card stock with Versamark and emboss with white embossing powder. Trim to size and assemble the card.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Tuesday morning, September 4, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Thank you for stopping by and hope you are inspired to be creative today!

Great card. I love the fancy window die. And, of course, flowers are always nice.

Linda,

Love the use of copics.

Annette Pearce,

There’s just something about autumn colors against a blue background like this card! Love it!!
