Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #6

Hi friends! We've made it another week. We hope you're doing ok out there, and finding some time to get inky. This week's challenge is called "Out of the Box". We're challenging you to think out of the box, and use a stamp, die or other product in a way that it wasn't necessarily intended. The sky's the limit - just look through your stash, and see if you can think of them in a different light.

Keep scrolling to the end of this post to find out how to share your project, but first, here's a fun way to repurpose a product from Ilina...

Hi everyone, Ilina here and I am playing along with this week's Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge - Out of the Box. I decided to use my dies as stamps for this challenge. How, you may ask. I used the Monarch Butterfly Fancy Die and a piece of fun foam. You can either use self adhesive fun foam or apply double sided adhesive before you cut it. Once die cut, remove the backing of the adhesive and use an anti-static powder tool or anything else that would remove most of the stickiness. I used my MISTI to stamp, but you can use an acrylic block, too. Removing most of the stickiness will allow the die cut to be removed easily after you are done with your project. Once you have created your die cut stamp, set it aside.

Stamp Bug Collection Bold Prints onto a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Dove White cardstock using Soft Granite ink. Then stamp the the foam butterflies over it using Hydrangea Ombre ink. Set aside.

Stamp sentiments from Zen Messages onto Amethyst cardstock and emboss in white. Ink over it using the Ombre Hydrangea ink and wipe off the ink from the embossed part. Trim and adhere to panel. Add Purple Hero Hues Enamel Dots and adhere to a Pebble cardstock note card.

Now it's your turn - we'd absolutely love for you to join us! We want to encourage you to actually sit down and enjoy the process of creating. We know it is a source of fun, relaxation and stress relief - something we all can use a bit more of right now. Create a new card for this challenge with the theme of OUT OF THE BOX. Use the Inlinkz tool at the very bottom of this post to link up your card, and you will be entered into our drawing. We will be giving a $35 gift certificate randomly to one person who plays along! To link up your project, you need to share it publicly somewhere you can grab the link - this can be your blog, Instagram, a Flickr account - anything that allows you to have a URL or website location to link up.

We, of course, encourage you to use your favorite Hero Arts products. But any and all entries are eligible for consideration. We really care most about you bringing a little inky joy into your life. Next Friday marks the start of our My Monthly Hero Countdown, so this time you have two weeks to play along! Entries must be submitted by Thursday, May 7 at 5:00pm PT to be eligible for the giveaway, and the winner will be announced when we announce our new challenge on Friday, May 8. Scroll down below the product thumbnails to find the linkup! If you share your project on social media, we'd love if you'd use the #staycraftywithhero hashtag.

Last week's challenge was Holiday Headstart - a big thanks to everyone who played along! Our random winner is Linda, who created this beauty with our Paper Layering Poinsettia.

Congratulations Linda! Email us at info@heroarts.com with "Stay Crafty Challenge Winner" in the subject to claim your prize.

Hello !
Ilina’s card is really nice, and using a die to create a stamp is a great idea. I’ve never thought about it ! Thanks for sharing this idea. :)

I wanted to say that all the creations for the “out of the box” challenge were nice. Thanks to you I discover many ways to use stamps or dies. That’s great.
