When I first saw hero_product_link sku="CL958" text="The Adventure Begins"] stamp set, I immediately thought about summer camping weekends, trips "up north" to the cabin, and holiday barbecues. Whether I'm a guest or the hostess, I love to give my friends and family small thank-you gifts or themed party favors to show my appreciation. So, today I'm sharing a card and several gift tags inspired by these summer adventures and activities.
To create my card, I started by randomly stamping pine trees from hero_product_link sku="CL958" text="The Adventure Begins"] stamp set across a panel of hero_product_link sku="PS610" text="white layering paper"] with hero_product_link sku="AF345" text="Intense Black"] ink. I quickly painted over each stamped tree with some blue watercolor and then wrapped the panel with twine before trimming it with navy cardstock and adhering it to a hero_product_link sku="PS620" text="grenadine"] card base.
Then, I die-cut and watercolored a small circle of white cardstock, and when the paint dried, I stamped the tent image onto the circle. I stamped the tent a second time and then colored the image with a red colored pencil before fussy-cutting and gluing the tent to the watercolored circle. I used foam tape to secure the circle to my card front along with two, hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="white"] embossed sentiments from hero_product_link sku="CL958" text="The Adventure Begins"] set. I finished the card with a few red gems for a bit of sparkle.
For small, adventure-themed gifts, I like to sew simple gift sacks from bandana quarters and then secure the bags with twine ties and gift tags. To make the gift tags, I used the same steps that I did to create my card. However, instead of securing the tree-stamped panels to card bases, I cut the panels into tag shapes and then punched a small hole, centered along each top edge, that I eventually threaded with a length of twine. For variety on these two tags, I stamped a pair of cabins, that I colored red and blue, and two different sentiments from hero_product_link sku="CL958" text="The Adventure Begins"] set.
I tried one additional tag combination with red watercolored pine trees and a blue tent. I love the variety and contrast that the red watercolor provides when paired with the navy bandana.
