Video: Full Panel with Ink Blended Florals

We are excited to bring you new My Monthly Hero kit videos, by popular demand! Look for these videos on most Fridays following the kit's release. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel so you never miss a video. Channin is here today to share our first kit video of the year, and it's a beauty!

Hello, friends! It’s Channin here with a video demonstrating how I created this full panel floral card with some of the new dies and stamps from the January My Monthly Hero Kit .

I knew it was going to take a lot of flowers and leaves to fill out this card front so I needed a way to color the die cuts that was faster than markers or watercolors. I decided use ink blending and I so glad I did! I love the soft gradations and shifts of color which were so easy to achieve with this method! Please check out the video below to see the whole process.

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.)

First, I die cut several flowers, leaves, and butterflies using the dies from the January My Monthly Hero Kit out of Dove White cardstock . I then ink blended the die cuts with several reactive inks ( Blue Hawaii , Pool Party , Blue Raspberry , Key Lime Fizz , Lemon Drop , Creamsicle , Fruit Punch , Taffy ) using tiny blending brushes.

Next, I arranged the die cuts over an A2 panel of acetate. Once I had all the die cuts arranged the way I like I then several placed large pieces of painters tape over the die cut to hold everything in place. I then removed the acetate, flipped the taped panel of die cuts over and added foam squares to the backside.

Next, I trimmed an A2 panel of Arctic cardstock down to 4” x 5.25” and adhered it onto an A2 top-folding white card base . I then removed the backing on the foam squares and stuck the die cuts down onto the card front.

Next, I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set included in the kit in embossing ink and then gold heat embossed it. I then finished the card by die cutting the sentiment with die from the kit and added it to the card front with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Heartbroken that the dies are unavailable separately and the kit was sold out the next day….
LOVE this card!!!

May,

I missed out on this kit and would like a chance to purchase it as well, once I seen it I jumped onto the site to purchase only to find out it was already sold out. I think it only lasted a couple of days , because I have been searching elsewhere to purchase with no luck!

Betsy,

I LOVE this card with the flowers and butterflies and the video was so helpful with great tips!!! But it is so sad that it is sold out and that there is no way to purchase those great dies! I watched the video being fully enamored with it all and ready to buy it! So sad that it is gone! Please make more dies like those for regular purchase. It would make my day to be able to create something like that! Please consider how such dies would be a huge hit! Hoping to see more like that from Hero Arts! Thank you!

Claudia Willmore,

Fabulous!!!

maria f.,
