Video: Tri-fold Edge Village Slimline Card

Hi everyone! Ilina here! Today I am playing along with our current Stay Crafty With Hero Challenge to create a slimline card. You still have 10 more days to enter for a chance to win a Hero Arts gift card!

I decided to use the Tri-fold Edge Village Fancy Die set to create a tri-fold slimline card along with the Holiday Blessings set and the Etched Winter Scene Bold Prints .

Watch the video below to see how this card came to be (or click HERE to watch on YouTube).

To make the card start by cutting three 4"x 8 1/2" and two 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" pieces of Dove White cardstock.

Die cut the 4" pieces using the Tri-fold Edge Village Fancy Die to create the stacked village look. The tallest piece will be the base. Trim it to 3 1/2". Score the middle piece on the right side at 1/2" and the top piece at 1/2" on the left side. (The middle piece will open to the right and the top to the left). The scored 1/2" section will be the tabs to adhere all three pieces together to create the tri-fold. Once scored, set them aside.

Take one of the 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" pieces of Dove White cardstock and apply Tide Pool to Navy Ombre Ink (ink to paper technique) until it's well saturated (Tip: you can cover only the top half as the bottom won't be visible once the card is put together). Stamp the Etched Winter Scene Bold Prints using Embossing and Watermark Ink. Use a heat tool to dry the ink. You will notice that as the ink dries the embossing ink lightens the background where it was stamped. (When stamped on dark cardstock instead of inked white cardstock, it would appear darker). Use white gel pen to add dots following the pattern from the background. Set aside.

Take the die cut pieces for the village and stamp sentiment using the the Navy part of the Tide Pool to Navy Ombre Ink . Use strong adhesive (I used double sided tape) to adhere the top and middle parts to the base/bottom part (on the back). This creates the tri-fold. Adhere the entire assembly to the background piece using liquid adhesive. Adhere the entire card to the second 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Dove White cardstock . This will provide sturdiness to your card and also ensure that if you got ink on the back of the background piece (where you did ink to paper technique) it won't be visible.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope you have an amazing day!
