Video: Two Cards at Once - Rainbow Trees!

Hi everybody! It's Maria Willis here and today I will be sharing two cards featuring the Tree With Roots Fancy Die . I've got a video showing you how to easily make two cards from one rainbow ink-blended background. It's also got some tips for building dimension with die cuts, adhering detailed die cuts without glue squirting out the sides and making sparkly magic on your backgrounds. I've got more information and pictures below but here's that video now if you'd like to get right to it.

If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.

I started my cards by ink blending a piece of Dove White cardstock cut to 4.25" x 5.5" with six different colors of Reactive inks. These inks blend so smoothly and were perfect for creating a rainbow background. Here are the colors I used: Taffy , Creamsicle , Lemon Drop , Key Lime Fizz , Splash and Thistle .

I sprayed my ink-blended background with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and then splattered it with White Glimmer Metallic Ink .

I used the Tree With Roots Fancy Die to die cut the ink-blended panel. I used the negative piece to create this first card. I stacked four die cut trees and glued them together with Precision Glue then adhered them to the center of the card. I topped that off with a sentiment from the Happy Autumn Forest stamp set.

For the second card I used the rainbow blended tree die cut for the focal point. I glued it to a couple more die cut trees and set it aside.

Next, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Many Everyday Messages stamp set in White Fine Detail Embossing Powder onto my black cardstock.

Finally, I glued my tree to the center of my card and that was it.

These cards were easy to make and they ended up being so striking. This Tree With Roots Fancy Die is so versatile that it can be used for a wide variety of occasions. All you need to do is use a sentiment to meet the occasion and you're all set!

I hope you've enjoyed my cards today and might feel inspired to go try something similar on your own. Please let me know if you have any questions. Remember that we love seeing your projects so please tag them with #heroarts so that we can see them!

Have an amazing day you guys and happy crafting!

Super interesting and after watching went out and made one similar. It used a background die so made A2 in two different colors, paper pieced and ended up with two cards. Came out great! Thanks so much for the idea.
