White on White with a Pop of Color

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I have some white-on-white inspiration for you using the new Hibiscus Fancy Die set. I love using the beautiful, detailed Fancy Dies with white on white color scheme and a pop of color. With the beautiful Hibiscus, you would expect super bright, almost neon colors, but I thought I would allow the details of the dies to shine with some subtle ink blending behind them. Let's get started with the details!

I began by die cutting the Hibiscus Fancy Die set a couple of times from some plain white cardstock, leaving some of the centers intact and removing some of the other center die cuts. I also die cut part of the Aloha Cover Plate, trimming off everything around the Aloha sentiment to create a graphic, blocked sentiment die cut.

I blended some Summer Sky ink on a plain white A2 card base using a blending brush. This color is absolutely perfect to make the detailed die cuts really pop, also evoking that perfect blue tropical sky. I also added a some yellow Copic coloring to the center of the hibiscus flower. I love these little pops of color on this bright, clean card front!

I arranged the die cuts on the blended card front, tucking the foliage behind the behind the flower die cuts and sentiment die cut, adhering them with both liquid glue and foam adhesive. I adhered some of the foliage in just the center, curling up some of the foliage to give extra dimension to the card front.

Well, that's all for me today! I love the clean look this white-on-white technique gives to your cards. Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a marvelous day!

Beautiful! Need to try this technique!

Awesome card Emily, I love that you leave the flowers white with and give the card just a hint of colour behind the flowers.
