Wishing You Well

Hello there, Michelle here. Today I have a card to share using the new From The Vault Bugs Stamp Set. I thought the bees in the set would work perfectly with the Honeycomb Stencil to make a get well type card.

I started off my card by taking a piece of Hero Hues Dove White Premium cardstock and cutting it to 4" x 5.25". I then took the bees from the From The Vault Bugs Stamp Set and stamped them on to the panel with Intense Black Ink. I also stamped the sentiment from the set with the same ink below.

I made a mask for the bees from masking paper, cut them out and placed them over the the stamped images. Using a blending brush, I applied a light layer of Lemon Drop Reactive Ink over the panel, concentrating most of the colour at the top and fading into white at the bottom. I then placed the Honeycomb Stencil over the top and kept it in place with memo tape. I blended over more of the Lemon Drop ink to intensify the colour. I then added a little Butter Bar Mid-Tone Shadow Ink at the very top to darken it further.

I took White and Black Liquid Watercolors and using a paintbrush, flicked these on to the panel to add some more interest to it. I set the piece aside to dry before removing the masks. The bees were colored with Copic Markers and then the panel simply adhered to a Top Folding Card with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, happy crafting!

I adore bees!
I can’t wait to see all the add ons

Eileen,

Love the bees! I just did something very similar, but my execution wasn’t as precise, haha! Beautiful card.

Stephanie B,

How sweet! It almost makes me wish I were ailing enough to need it! ;-)
