10 Christmas Card Ideas with the Dear Santa Holiday Kit

Before I switched to cardmaking exclusively, I was a scrapbooker. And I created scrapbooking-style cards for quite a few years before diving into the world of stamps, dies, stencils, etc. So creating cards with this kit felt so nostalgic!

This kit is packed with charming pieces, and I found myself slipping right back into that scrapbooking style mindset: building a base design first, then coming back in with stickers, chipboard accents, and tags to fill in the spaces and add interest. 

Even after making ten cards, I’m convinced there’s enough product in this kit to create at least fifty more — you’d just need to supplement card bases and envelopes. It’s also a fantastic kit to pair with your basic Spellbinders dies to create simple backgrounds for all your little design vignettes!

I love a fancy cocktail, so I knew I had to use that adorable die-cut ephemera first! I paired it with a sentiment that says “Christmas Cheer”, a nod to clinking your glassware in celebration.

Card 2: Merry Christmas Ornaments

There are so many sweet ornaments throughout this kit, and I had so much fun arranging them on this sweet card front! I stuck with the contents of the kit, but these would look really adorable if you added gold string to hang each one!

Card 3: Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I couldn’t get over this adorable deer, and the squirrel and cardinal were perfect pals! 

Card 4: Santa Claus is Coming to Town

One of the few landscape cards I created, I needed the wider space to really create a wonderful North Pole scene!

Card 5: Sending Joy

These diecut stockings are SO cute, and they really fit perfectly underneath the Sending Joy sentiment. I love moving diecut ephemera pieces around my desk, finding what works well together and what doesn’t!

Card 6: Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas

I loved the diecut mugs so much, I had to use them both on this card!

Card 7: Peace, Love, Joy and Everything Nice

So many of my cards ended up being bold red & green, but I love the more serene and pastel nature of this card. Those pink poinsettias are everything!

Card 8: Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Still smitten with the adorable deer featured in this kit, I also used up a few of the leftover strips of patterned paper to create my background!

Card 9: Very Merry Christmas

When I was looking at these adorable die-cut postage stamps, they naturally formed into the shape of a tree. I knew they had to become one of my cards!

Card 10: Dear Santa

I just had to create one more Santa-themed card, and I loved how this cutie Santa was checking the nice list! He paired perfectly with the vintage mailbox and the adorable banner.
