Floral Card Ideas With The Birds & Bees Garden Collection

Hello, crafty friends!! Brenda Noelke here from My PaperCut Creations! I’m super excited to be a guest on the Spellbinders blog today! I’m sharing three cards using The Birds & Bees Garden Collection designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn!

THINKING OF YOU

For my first card, I die-cut the flowers from the Aster and Pom Pom Dahlia & Ladybugs die sets from Pink Sand, Purple Mist, and Chamomile cardstocks. The leaves are from the same sets, as well as the Autumn Foliage die set. They were die-cut from Fern cardstock. I added shading with Copic markers, then used the Ultimate Tool Kit to shape and form the petals and leaves, using Susan’s videos on YouTube as a guide. The layers were all adhered together using liquid glue.

For the background, I embossed a panel of white cardstock with the Leafy 3D embossing folder, trimmed it slightly, and adhered it to an A2 panel of Pink Sand cardstock. The flowers and leaves were all arranged and adhered with liquid glue.

The sentiment, from the Garden Favorite Sentiments Set, was white heat embossed onto Onyx cardstock, then trimmed into a rectangle. It was adhered with foam tape and Fashion Bella adhesive pearls finish this card off perfectly.

TRUE FRIENDS

I started this card by die-cutting all of the elements in the Black Eyed Susan die set from Saffron, Fern, and Onyx cardstock. I added shading to them with Copic markers, shaped the flowers and leaves using the Ultimate Tool Kit, and then adhered them all together with liquid glue.

For the background, I embossed a panel of Onyx cardstock with the Basket of Sunflowers 3D embossing folder, then splattered it with white acrylic ink. Once it was dry, I trimmed each side and adhered it to a panel of Saffron cardstock that was trimmed a bit larger, then adhered it to an A2 white card base. The flowers and leaves were arranged and adhered to the background with liquid glue.

This sentiment is also from the Garden Favorite Sentiments Set. It was white heat embossed onto Onyx cardstock, trimmed and adhered toward the bottom of the card.

GIVE THANKS SLIMLINE

My final card features the Autumn Foliage die set and the Basket of Sunflowers 3D embossing folder. I pulled out several Distress Oxide Ink pads and “smooshed” them onto a panel of watercolor paper by applying ink to a piece of cellophane, spraying it with water and “smooshing’ it onto the paper. Once it was dry, I die-cut the leaves from the panel and added detail with a brown marker.

For the background on this one, I embossed a panel of Alabaster cardstock with the Basket of Sunflowers  3D embossing folder and splattered it with diluted gold pigment ink. Once dry, it was trimmed and adhered to a slimline size panel of Blue Spruce cardstock.

This sentiment is from the Welcome Sign & Sentiments stamp set. It was gold heat embossed onto Blue Spruce cardstock, trimmed into a banner, and adhered with foam tape. The leaves were adhered with liquid glue. Aura AB color essentials gems add a bit of sparkle.
