Hello, crafty friends! I’m Adrienne Boese, better known as Alice Scraps Wonderland online. If you know me, then you know I love florals so I’m very excited about this year’s holiday card-making kit from Spellbinders! I think florals are such a fun and unexpected way to celebrate the holidays and can really make your cards stand out.
So I created 3 different floral Christmas card ideas for you using the kit and some of the add on pieces that you can purchase a la cart.
Die-cut florals, Ephemera, and Patterned Paper
This first card includes quite a few different floral elements. The first is a gold and white floral patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad. Plus, I also included some floral ephemera and a small floral die.
Emboss the light pink paper with an embossing folder.
Die cut the Delivering Joy Sleigh from the patterned paper and gold foil cardstock and glue them together.
Die cut the poinsettia flower and some of the leaves from the same die set and glue the flower layers together.
Fussy cut the excess white halo off of a piece of the floral ephemera from the kit.
Assemble your little sleigh scene, layering the ephemera under the sled and the die-cut floral with leaves on top.
Pop on some sentiments from the stickers and ephemera, plus some gems from the kit.
Tip: Die-cut the sleigh layers from white cardstock as well to add strength and dimension. This will allow you to pop the sleigh up with foam adhesive. Letting the edges of your floral ephemera overhang the sled will add more realism to your little scene.
BetterPress Floral Background
This second card combines the Winter Rose Background BetterPress Plate and coordinating Stencil to make a stunning background that shines!
Letterpress your Winter Rose Background BetterPress Plate with the black BetterPress Ink onto a BetterPress Cotton A2 panel.
Use the coordinating Winter Rose Stencil and your favorite inks to add color to the letter pressed image.
Trim off ¼ inch on each side and adhere to a piece of color-coordinating cardstock from the kit.
Cut a strip of vellum to fit across the center of your card that will fit the “Warm Wishes” puffy sticker sentiment from the kit.
Add the sticker sentiment to the vellum, then glue the vellum to your card front.
Pop on a few of the gems.
Tip: When gluing down the vellum to your card background, only apply a thin line of liquid adhesive under the sticker sentiment, so the adhesive does not show through your vellum.
Floral Ephemera
This final card pairs some festive patterned paper with some floral ephemera for a more traditional Christmas card.
Cut a piece of green cardstock to an A2 card size.
Stamp a sentiment from the stamp set in the kit in gold embossing powder onto the bottom of the A2 green base panel.
Cut a piece of the plaid patterned paper to 4x5.25” and tear off the bottom 1” or so to let the stamped sentiment peek through when glued down.
Add some of the Velvety Bordeaux trim to the plaid paper and glue it to the green cardstock base panel.
Back the gold and white chipboard frame sticker with the black and white text patterned paper—I popped the frame up off the patterned paper by adding some foam adhesive in between.
Layer some floral ephemera on top of and below the frame and add this cluster to your card front.
Add on a sticker sentiment, a tiny cardinal ephemera, and some gems.
Tip: To glue down the velvet trim, apply the double-sided adhesive tape that comes in your kit to the back of the velvet ribbon. Remove the backing on the adhesive and press the trim into place. Trim off the excess with a good pair of scissors.
I hope that you enjoyed these 3 floral Christmas card ideas. If you did, be sure to head over to my blog where I share 3 more floral Christmas card ideas using the Handmade Holidays Cardmaking Kit! Until next time, happy crafting!
