Keeway Tsao and I’m thrilled to be be here today for another guest post with Spellbinders featuring the
Folk Art Collection by
Lene Lok.
It has been such a joy working with this collection. In my
first post, I started with just a plain white die cut and focused on creating a complimentary blended background. In my
second post, I was inspired by the bright colors folk art to color my die cuts to create a bright, contrasting card. This time, I have decided to die cut my images out of colored cardstock, and add details and depth to these cuts with a little ink blending.
I used the
Nordic Blooms Dies to die cut multiple leaves and flowers out of colored cardstock. To bring further depth to the images, I added ink blending to the edges of the die cuts with a mini dauber.
For the background, I blended Broken China distress oxide ink from the bottom up, and also masked off the middle with post-it tape to create another edge where I blended bottom up. I used the same ink to add a touch of ink splatter.
I assembled and adhered all 6 flowers to the card in alternating colors. Then, I used white acrylic paint to splatter white dots across the entire card.
And finally, for the final step, I stamped my large sentiment ‘Thank You’ right in between to two rows of flowers in dark brown ink.
