Just Beachy Scrapbooking With Suzanna

Hello crafty friends! Suzanna Lee here today to share with you a few sandy layouts! As the school year comes to an end and we begin to formulate summer plans, the beach is always a favorite! The Simple Stories Just Beachy collection is available in the Spellbinders shop. While you’re adding that to your cart, be sure to grab some metal dies and embossing folders that complement the collection, there are so many to choose from! JUST BEACHY SCRAPBOOKING WITH SUZANNA JUST BEACHY SCRAPBOOKING WITH SUZANNA For this layout, I opted to focus on the orange, pink and yellows in the collection as they really popped the photos that I had of a beach sunset over Lake Superior. There are lots of great colors in this collection which can be used in all sorts of combinations. Or all together! JUST BEACHY SCRAPBOOKING WITH SUZANNA Both of the envelopes from the Mini Envelopes 1 Etched Dies cut from two of the patterned papers in the collection make great multicolored palettes. While I don’t need the space to enclose hidden journaling, they make create blocks of color within the grid of this layout. They could be used with tags cut from the same die set used for the envelopes if additional storytelling was necessary. Or to save memorabilia. I love the tags from the Simple Stories collections as they provide great places to journal as I have done here. JUST BEACHY SCRAPBOOKING WITH SUZANNA While I’m a huge fan of both multi-photo layouts and large photo layouts, this large photo layout in particular has got to be one of my all-time favorites! This photo of my kids frolicking at the shore is from 2015! Look how these goodies really make that photo shine! JUST BEACHY SCRAPBOOKING WITH SUZANNA The header of this layout was created with 3D embossing folder on cardstock. It was easy to rotate the folder to get the remainder of the 12-inch long cardstock for a full 12 inches of embossing. Check out the wonderful texture this adds to the layout! Two tags side by side allow for both journaling as well as embellishment to the layout. The tags are oriented upright so I had to cover the upside-down printed pattern. Easy to do layering chipboard with stickers from the collection sticker sheet. I love the phrase stickers that come with collections but often find them rather generic. Personalizing them is something I will try to do such as adding this two-layered hello die cut. The right edge of the piece of patterned paper is fussy cut and overlapping the right 3/8ths of the layout. Along the whole edge of the waves, you will find Distress Stickles, mimicking the sand, and Nuvo transparent drops that look like the foamy water or water droplets as the waves pull out to the lake. Aren’t those little details just stunning? Be sure to check out this collection and the additional pieces that you can order! While I don’t have them, there are so many wonderful beach and sea-life-themed options in the Spellbinders shop. Or, as I tried to demonstrate today, you can make what you have work. I like the flexibility that less themed dies and folders give me – things like those envelopes or word phrases can be used on any and all projects. Thank you so much for joining me today! If you want to see more of my work you can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and my YouTube channel.

Absolutely love it! I love scrapbooking. I don’t do it often enough but maybe I will this weekend. Thank you for the inspiration.
