Make Quick and Easy Cards using Basic Stamping Techniques

Hi friends!  This is Mariana Grigsby here today.  I am one of the FSJ Concept designers and I am thrilled to be taking over the blog only to share a couple projects with you. No matter if you are an avid card maker or you are just getting into this fun hobby, basic stamping techniques are always an excellent choice if you are aiming to create a clean and simple project.

Thinking about warmer days and the colorful Season that is about to start, I created two flowery cards using basic stamping techniques that feature three fabulous Fun Stampers Journey stamp sets: Fragrant Camellia, Beauty Blooms and Everyday Script.

For both of my projects I started by creating all the stamped elements first. For my first card,  I used the Beauty Blooms stamp set and I stamped the flowers over a Whip Cream panel with Fresh Sage ink.  Then, I re-stamped the same image but this time over Bubble Gum cardstock with Rustic Rose ink. This particular stamp set doesn’t have a matching die, so I used my Detail Pro Shears to fussy-cut the flowers (the Detail Shears are just perfect for this task). After that, I also stamped a sentiment from the Everyday Script stamp set onto Whip Cream cardstock with River Stone ink and I die cut it with its matching die.

The next step was to arrange the elements onto the card. I adhered the Whip Cream stamped panel onto a Thin Pail  folded card and then, I adhered the blooms and the sentiment onto the card using foam squares. I finished up my card with some some pretty Cottage Pearls. Simple, yet pretty!

For my second project, I used the Fragrant Camellia stamp set  and I stamped the flower image twice using Rich Coral ink over Whip Cream cardstock. Then, I stamped the leaf images with Lemon Grass ink and  I also stamped a sentiment from the Everyday Script stamp set with Hazelnut Blend ink over Whip Cream cardstock as well. After that, I used their matching dies to die cut all the stamped images. I have to say that it is always nice to have matching dies… but if you don’ t have them… fussy cutting is a great alternative.

I adhered a Whip Cream panel onto a Fresh Sage folded card, and then I arranged all the elements over it. I used foam squares to adhere all the images over the card and I simply embellished it with a few Sea Stones here and there.
