Ready for Halloween! Card Ideas for You to Try!

Hello crafty friends! This is Jennifer Rustioni from @armieritagli! I’m very happy to be here again as a guest on the Spellbinders Blog! Today I share with you three Halloween cards I created featuring the new amazing Simon Hurley’s Fall Sampler Stamp & Dies Set! This set is really amazing and perfect for creating cards for Halloween and Thanksgiving as well!

HERE FOR THE BOOS

For my first card, I chose to create an illustrated card with the super cute little ghost from Simon Hurley’s Fall Sampler Stamp Set. I started drawing the tree on the right with a Copic marker in a light shade. After that, I colored the background in yellow and blue shades. I drew the violet trees on the background and then I colored the main tree and the foreground.

At this point, I masked the tree on the right and stamped the little ghost with the Distress Ink Picket Fence. In this way, the ghost pops out from behind the tree. I colored it using wax pastels and then added the details with a black fine liner. At last, I stamped the sentiment and added the highlights with a white gel pen.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

For my second project, I chose to use the super fun pumpkins dies. I die cut twice every pumpkin, to have two pieces of each of them. I die cut the first piece using the facial expression dies and then colored it with the black Copic Marker. At this point, I assembled every pumpkin, gluing the two parts, and colored the facial expressions in orange-yellow shades.

I realized the background with Copic Markers in black-blue shades. I drew the light line and colored it in the same shades of the pumpkin’s facial expression. I glued the pumpkins on the background and realized the highlights with a white gel pen. At last, I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of my card.

FANG-TASTIC

For my last card, I used the beautiful bats from Simon Hurley’s Fall Sampler Stamp Set. I started drawing a big moon on the left. I colored it with Copic Markers in yellow shades. Then, I colored the sky in violet shades with Copic Markers as well.

At this point, I stamped the two bats with the Memento Ink Pad Tuxedo Black and realized the highlights with a white gel pen. At last, I stamped the sentiment and matted my card with a black card stock, as usual.

What beautiful cards; you make it all sound so easy. I loved the little white highlights, which I had never thought to add before, but I think that they just make the card pop. I will try adding these types of highlights to my cards as well. Thank you for the tips!

Linda McChrystal,
