The Painter’s Garden Collection – Spring Paper Flower Card Ideas
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of Spring paper flower card ideas using the new Painter’s Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. The gorgeous floral designs in the collection reminiscent of the works of Impressionist painters inspired me to create three bright springtime cards for different occasions.
Pansy Thank You Card
I love the unique colorings of pansies and thought they would be a fun design to try it out first. Here I chose three different purple varieties of pansies to emulate for this pretty square thank you card.
Color the pansy petals and leaves with Copic markers to create three unique varieties. Shape the petals using the loop tool and small ball stylus. Shape the leaves using the leaf tool and a small ball stylus.
Trim a piece of Waterfall Cardstock to 4.75” square and emboss it with the Orange Peel Quilt Embossing Folder.
Adhere the embossed panel to the postage edge square with a tape runner, then mat it with Lilac Blossom Cardstock before adhering it all down to a top-folding 5.25” square white card base.
Add the postage edge circle panel on top with foam adhesive and then adhere the sentiment and flowers to the card front with foam adhesive and hot glue.
The Zinnia Die Set really lets you play with bright colors, so I grabbed this set next. Here I added two different styles of zinnias to a cute basket for a fun birthday card.
Color the petals with Copic markers, shape them using tweezers and a small ball stylus and assemble them with liquid glue. I used Susan’s instructions to create a pink and orange standard zinnia as well as a lemon yellow button variety.
Color the leaves with Copic markers and shape them using the leaf tool and small ball stylus.
Die cut Dune Cardstock using the basket die from the Gladiolus and Berry Picking BasketDie Set and blend Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges with a sponge dauber to add a little depth.
Trim a piece of Waterfall Cardstock to about 4.5” x 5.5” and emboss it using the Bamboo Trellis 3D Embossing Folder.
Die cut white cardstock with the largest die from the Postage Edge Rectangles Die Set, mat it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhere it to a top-folding white card base measuring 5” x 6”.
Add the embossed panel to the card front with a tape runner and pop the basket up on top with foam adhesive.
Adhere the flowers to the card with hot glue.
Apply Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using one of the greetings from the Birthday Unboxing Glimmer Plate Set, cut it out with the coordinating die, and adhere it to the basket with foam adhesive.
Carolina Allspice Thank You Card
Lastly, I wanted to create a bright and cheery thank you card with several sprigs of Carolina Allspice.
Color the Carolina Allspice petals and branches with Copic markers. Shape the petals using tweezers and a small ball stylus. Shape the leaves using the leaf tool and a small ball stylus.
Assemble the flowers with liquid glue.
Apply Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using one of the greetings from Yana’s Special Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set and cut it out with the coordinating die.
Add the branches and flowers to the card front with hot glue and the sentiment beside them with foam adhesive.
