Video: Valentine's Day Cards & Tags with Paul Antonio Glimmer Plates

Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it, so why not start working on Valentine’s day cards right away? It’s always fun to give and receive handmade cards so I encourage you to join me today and create a few.

I love to use colored cardstock to make an impact on my cards, and so for today’s projects I picked a few  colors from Fun Stampers Journey. The colors are really nice and this paper also foils beautifully.  The colors I used are: Watermelon Fusion, Sweet Berry, Bubble Gum as well as a light gray from my stash for the pink panel; Rich Coral, Candy Apple, Pomegranate Splash and Raspberry Berry for the red panel.

To make the color blocked panels I cut my paper to 1” wide by 4 1/4” tall and used washi tape to secure pieces together from the back. Next, I used my Glimmer Hot Foil System and Platinum Die Cutting machine to foil a gorgeous heart from the Hearts & Love set using gold foil.

Once the heart was foiled I trimmed the panel down slightly and foam mounted onto a a diagonal stripe embossed panel which in turn was adhered onto an A2 white top folding card base.

Next, I added a simple "Love You" sentiment, I gold heat embossed it on a piece of white cardstock, cut into a strip and foam mounted onto my card overlapping the heart slightly. Lastly, I’ve embellished this card using clear jewels from my stash.

For my first tag I die cut the shape out using Swirl Tags die set from Becca Feeken and I gold heat embossed the word February from the Planner Dates & Month stamp set. Be sure to watch my video to see the rest of the projects I made.
